BENGALURU, AUGUST 22 (KARNATAKA INFORMATION ):
The Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has asked for a detailed report from the Department of Health and Family Welfare on the media reports relating to the death of children in Kolar District.
In the meanwhile, the Department of Health and Family Welfare has issued a clarification on the reports of death of children telecast in some television channels.
The clarification by the Department states that three infant deaths since yesterday are due to congenital anomaly, triplets – low birth weight and twins – low birth weight, refferred from chintamani.
We have sufficient staff – four pediatricians are working. No dearth of drugs or equipments. Children born with congenital anomaly and low birth weight carry the risk of mortality. Those cannot be attributed to any negligence without enquiry.
